• Requirements: Mini runs on gpt-4o-mini by default. This API is available with an OpenAI and will run on credit you apply to the account. There is no monthly fee for this.
• OpenAI offers a prepaid billing option for API usage. You can purchase credits in advance, with a minimum purchase of $5 (Mini will use this credit ONLY when you operate it). On the OpenAI site: (One time setup)

• Access Billing Settings: Navigate to the billing overview in your account settings.
• Initiate Payment Plan: Click on "Start payment plan" or "Buy credits."
• Select Credit Amount: Choose the amount of credits you wish to purchase.
• Confirm Purchase: Complete the transaction to add the credits to your account.
• Get your Key (A unique string of text characters): Go to the "API Keys" section in your account settings.
• Generate a New Key: Click "Create new secret key" and copy the key immediately.

 

Add your key to Mini:

• Add the Key to Mini's config.json File: Paste the key under the appropriate field in config.json.
• Save and Go: Save the file, and Mini will use the key when needed. 🎉

 

Once you buy Mini - Basics, you own it. You are entitled to upgrades for one year. The on-going costs to run Mini can be found in your OpenAI API Dashboard - Usage. If you have a local AI model, there is no on-going cost to run Mini and everything runs locally, not requiring the Internet at all. (The sample weather script requires Python (free) and an Internet connection to reach the NOAA weather API)
